Snoop Dogg Guests on the Gorillaz’s Latest Single, ‘Hollywood’

The Gorillaz keep netting bigger and bigger names for their upcoming album, The Now Now. Late last month it was announced that the animated band had welcomed a Powerpuff Girls villain into their ranks, and now it has been revealed that legendary rapper Snoop Dogg guests on a newly-revealed track, “Hollywood.”

The track also includes vocal work by house musician Jamie Principle. The duo guesting on the track is far from the first time the Gorillaz have attracted big names for an album release. Back in 2005, Danger Mouse, a producer then best known for his work on The Grey Album, which combined vocals from Jay-Z’s The Black Album and The Beatles’ self-titled album, was recruited to produce Demon Days, the Gorillaz’s second album.

Other artists to be featured on Gorillaz albums include Lou Reed on Plastic Beach’s “Some Kind of Nature,” Little Dragon on Plastic Beach’s “Empire Ants” and “To Bringe,” Bobby Womack on The Fall‘s “Bobby in Phoenix,” De La Soul on Demon Days‘ “Feel Good Inc.” and Bruce Willis in the music video for “Stylo,” among many others.

The Now Now by the Gorillaz will be available for purchase June 29.
