Official Zodiac Signs of Marvel's Avengers (According to Their Canon Birthdays)

While there are many lists that go around talking about the zodiac signs of different Marvel characters, these are usually based more on their traits than their actual birthday. While the comic or MCU birthdays of every character aren’t known, there are some characters whose birthdays have been established in the canon. Discovering the official astrological signs of some popular Marvel character is interesting as it gives insight into their character, and it’s a fun exercise to see if their traits match their sign well or not.

Here are 10 of the real zodiac signs of Marvel characters based on their canon birthdays.

Bruce Banner was born on December 18th, making him a Sagittarius. This sign is known for being truth-seekers who are always looking for knowledge. They are ruled by Jupiter which is all about philosophy, knowledge, and travel. They tend to be very enthusiastic when pursuing information and learning, which sounds just like Bruce Banner. While he is less about philosophical knowledge, he is all about scientific learning and discovery.

Bucky Barnes is a fan-favorite character who was born on March 10, 1917. This makes him a Pisces. Pisces tend to have a hard time distinguishing between reality and fantasy and they are known as the chameleons of the zodiac. While Barnes might not have always been this way, given his traumatic experiences as the Winter Soldier, this fluid personality having difficulty living in reality makes sense. Pisces are also known for putting others above themselves, which makes sense given how Bucky used to take care of Steve Rogers back when he was sick and weak.

Since Natasha Romanoff was born on November 22, 1984, she is a Scorpio. This sign fits very well for this character. Scorpios are serious types who don’t have a lot of fluff about them. They don’t like to waste time, and they are great at gathering secrets which is something Natasha is amazing at as a former spy. They are known for their ability to get to the bottom of things, and they don’t have a lot of time for BS. Scorpios are definitely one of the fiercest signs in the zodiac and a perfect fit for Black Widow. In fact, even the colors associated with Scorpios ar red and black.

Clint was born on January 7, 1971, making him a Capricorn. This sign is known for being about hard work and for being determined and ambitious. This makes sense for Hawkeye since he is not a superhero but has worked hard to be able to hold his own with those of the Avengers who are. They are also known for being practical and stubborn, two traits which Hawkeye in the MCU portrays often. Capricorns are all about achieving their goals through pragmatism and hard work, traits MCU Hawkeye exemplifies.

James Rhodes, known as Rhodey, was born on October 8, 1968. This makes him a Libra. This sign is known for being less focused on individualism and more focused on how they work with others around them. They are signs who like to work together in partnership, which makes sense given Rhodey’s great dynamic with Iron Man. Libras are also associated with the Scales of Justice and being objective; they want to do what’s best for everyone and care about fairness. This is very in line with Rhodey’s personality and how he is often one of the most objective of the team and always thinking about justice and logic.

Peter Parker was born on August 27, so he is a Virgo. This methodical type is known for taking joy in helping and taking care of others. They are a sign that is associated with duty--they are always looking out for the greater good. As such, Virgo is a perfect astrological match for Peter Parker. He is always about protecting others and living up to his duty as a friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. They can also be quite obsessive about projects, something Parker can relate to as a science nerd. And, they often have an innocence about them that is endearing.

As far as we can tell, T’Challa was born on May 21st, 1980. This technically makes him a Gemini, but since the birthday is right on the cusp, it’s important to look at both Taurus and Gemini to see which one fits. T’Challa definitely has many Taurus traits. Taurus is known for being a practical and reliable zodiac sign, which makes sense as T’Challa is someone that many people rely on. But, since Taurus is ruled by Venus, they also have a soft, romantic side to them, just like T’Challa. The Gemini in T’Challa’s sign makes him more adaptable than the typical Taurus, however.

Doctor Strange was born on November 11th. He is a Scorpio. This is the only zodiac repeated on this list, but it’s easy to see that Doctor Strange does have many Scorpio traits. Scorpios are stubborn and determined, and they are also intense and passionate. These trails definitely are ones that Doctor Strange embodies. They are also known for being secretive and often follow a scientific or mystical path, making Scorpio a great match for Doctor Strange.

Born on May 29, 1970, in the MCU, Tony Stark is a Gemini which is a perfect fit. Geminis are known to run their mouth, but they are also very intellectual, known to be probing in their search of information. They also love to share what they know with others and they are very quick-witted. Their wit is a trait they are proud of as they are known to be the life of the party. Basically, these traits are everything that Tony Stark is known for. They are somewhat mercurial and can have two sides to them, which makes sense given Iron Man’s outward party animal, confident and witty persona, and the more internal side that is wracked with guilt and self-doubt.

The Star-Spangled Man with a Plan was, of course, born on July 4th, 1918. While this birthday is very much on the nose to his superhero character, it makes Steve Rogers a Cancer, which is perfectly fitting given his personality. Cancers are people who like to take care of others and have a strong sense of loyalty, which translates to the Cap's devotion to his country. Cancers are also known for being somewhat moody and have an introverted side that can be a little manipulative. This makes sense given how Steve Rogers is somewhat withdrawn and keeps much of his inner feelings hidden away while giving off a very put-together front. He makes a great leader focused on keeping people together. Cancers are also known for being strong-willed and stubborn, being especially prone to behaving this way when it comes to protecting people they care about. This sign is all about protecting and shielding. Given how headstrong Captain America was about protecting Bucky Barnes, this all makes a lot of sense.
