Green Lantern’s Light Illuminates Doomsday Clock #7 Variant

Green Lantern’s Light Illuminates Doomsday Clock #7 Variant

In brightest day, in blackest night, no evil shall escape the sight of this Green Lantern power battery gracing the variant cover of Doomsday Clock #7, illustrated by Gary Frank and colored by Brad Anderson.

“First look at #DoomsdayClock #7!” series writer Geoff Johns said in a Twitter post containing the variant, as well as the issue’s main cover, which features Rorschach pummeling The Joker. “Thanks to everyone who made it one of the top books of May! The team is doing its best to deliver a series different from what’s out there, worthy of your money, time and, of course, LOTS of patience!!! THANK YOU!”

It was in Doomsday Clock #5 that Rorschach and Saturn Girl rescued Johnny Thunder from an attack by a local street gang, at which time they discovered the lantern that once belonged to the Golden Age Green Lantern Alan Scott. How Scott factors into the greater narrative remains to be seen, but given the prominence with which the lantern is displayed on this variant cover, one can only assume he’ll be a major player in the story.

Doomsday Clock #7, by Geoff Johns and Gary Frank, goes on sale this fall from DC Comics.
